The pandemic has had a reverberating effect across the world. The impact has been felt and continues to be felt in all communities, industries and institutions; most especially the family institution. The impact of the pandemic on the children cannot be ignored. Statistically, the numbers of children that had the virus were significantly less compared to adults. The pandemic has had a great impact on the mental well-being of children. Some children have lost one or both of their parents or a grandparent. Some know those who have lost loved ones. Children have had to stay at home, away from school and church. Leading to isolation and for some, boredom.
As parents, it is important we proactively support our children to ensure that all their needs are met, including their mental health needs.
