Now, before, we get to what is a spiritual revolution and the other relevant points – we need to understand what a revolution is.
A revolution is defined as:
‘a forcible overthrow of a government or social order, in favour of a new system’.
(Google Dictionary, 2022)

Throughout history, there are many examples of this taking place – the most influential and arguably most significant of these revolutions include:
- The Russian Revolution (1917)
- The Chinese Revolution (1911)
- The Haitian Revolution (1791 – 1804)
- The French Revolution (1789 – 1799)
- The American Revolution (1765 – 1783)
Revolutions occur because people want change, a better / fairer society and because they were not satisfied with their current situation, and neither should you. This brings us back to the key topic of today – SPIRITUAL REVOLUTION. Please note that spiritual revolution can also be referred to as spiritual revival. This will be discussed in the context of an individual and not in the context of an organisation, country, or anything like the examples mentioned earlier within this article.
A spiritual revolution (for an individual) can be defined as:
‘the forceful dethronement of flesh through the Grace of God and by His Might and the establishment of Christ at the centre of our lives’.
(See 2 Corinthians 10:3-5; 5:17)
With Christ at the centre of our lives, sin has got no place in our lives (Matthew 6:24; 1 John 3:9). Our body is the temple of the Lord (1 Corinthians 6:19,20) and only by God’s Grace can we overthrow the rule of sin in our body and let Christ in (Revelations 3:20).
The next question in some of our minds may be so what’s next? How can I experience a spiritual revolution? How do I overcome what seems like a permanent sinful nature that continuously drives me?
The answer is Jesus Christ. There is no other solution but CHRIST.
To even begin this journey of spiritual revolution, you MUST be saved and to be saved you need to REPENT (John 3:15-17) & TRUST in Jesus as your Lord and the only one who can save you from the punishment for your sins. In order words, you need to acknowledge you are a sinner, ask for forgiveness from God and pledge your life to Christ (Romans 10:9,10). God would make you a new person – you would be Born-Again.
Salvation is only possible after Repentance – once you are saved there are other steps you need to take to experience spiritual revolution and maintain your relationship with Christ (these are presented below):
The points stated above are just starting points to help you with your journey to spiritual revolution. I pray as you read, repent, obey God and do His Will – He will guide you and revive you.
