The Omniscient knew that our age would be dominated by the loudest, hence, He gave believers the royal marching order in Matthew 10:27 to proclaim His message of love and peace on the rooftops. “What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs (NIV).” The phrase “from the roofs” serves as a metaphorical expression for spreading the message of God to the widest possible audience with most effective means.
Most believers have the great privilege of living in liberal and democratic lands where they can share their faith through the social media. The time has come when Christians should ask for God’s guidance and pray for the courage to speak openly and fearlessly about their faith.
Christians can actively share their faith with others through conversations, social media, or other means. Social media has become a powerful platform. Christ’s disciples receive private instructions from Jesus each time that they observe private and family devotion, attend Bible study, go to prayer meetings and conferences. No doubt, they strive to live in accordance with the teachings of Christ both in private and public. On top of these, they should “proclaim from the roofs“, step out of their comfort zone and share their beliefs even in challenging or hostile environments. In Matthew 5:14, Jesus charges Christians to be light to the world, just as a city on a hill cannot be hidden. Believers have the great opportunity to be shining examples of Christ’s love, compassion, and truth in the world by being a beacon of light to those around them.

The world is waiting for bold and faithful witnesses for Christ, both in words and actions. Christians can share the message of the Gospel with others in a loving and sincere manner through social media by using these platforms as means to share their faith, proclaim the Gospel, and serve as positive influence on others.
You can post Bible verses, inspirational quotes, and insightful messages that reflect Christian values and teachings. Opportunities are there for you to share personal testimonies of how your faith has impacted your life and the lives of others. Authenticity can be a powerful way to connect with others who may be going through similar experiences. Be authentic and transparent to share your faith journey, including your struggles and doubts, as well as your moments of spiritual growth and clarity. The social media platforms allow you to participate in respectful and constructive conversations about faith and spirituality. You can respond to questions and comments with love, grace, and humility, providing thoughtful answers based on your belief.

You can share articles, blog posts, videos, or podcasts from reputable Christian sources that provide valuable insights into faith, morality, and spiritual growth. There are visually appealing graphics, images, and videos containing Christian content and messages that you can share through visual media. Visual contents often have greater impacts on social media platforms. Social media empowers you to promote contents that encourage Christian values and principles, highlight acts of kindness, charity and service rendered by Christian organisations. Use social media to offer support, encouragement, and join prayer chains for those in need. Be a voice of unity and reconciliation in a world often marked by division, negativity, and hostility. Engage with current events and issues from a Christian perspective, offering a balanced and loving viewpoint. Advocate for social justice, compassion, and mercy based on Christian principles. Be mindful of your online behaviour and the impact of your posts and comments on others. Ensure that you only use social media as an opportunity to spread positivity, hope, and love, being conscious that your online presence reflects your Christian faith. Strive to do everything with love, respect, and humility, keeping in mind that your goal is to share the message of Christ and be a positive influence in the digital world.
